So there are a lot of thoughts and ideas and what-ifs swirling around in my cranium right down which means I won't be very concise with this final post from the Airport Sheraton in Portland, but I know as soon as I leave the parking lot my brain will be switching gears to the list of non-ITSC things.
So here's what I got...
iBOOKS
I'm still reeling from Apple's Session on Sunday. This is going to change everything. I can't wait to turn some of my classroom materials into an ePub.
FACEBOOK
While Facebook has been around for a long time, I learned something new about Facebook this weekend. I'm excited to see how my students will react to my new Facebook Page, which is different than a Facebook Profile.
NEW BLOOMS & STUDENT ENGAGEMENT
Cindy Lane's workshop on the Web 2.0 apps that can be used at each level to engage students, as well as Jennifer Gingerich's ideas for moving beyond Consumerism with mobile devices to Collaboration with technology and each other.
BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS
This is my fourth year at ITSC. I look forward to it every year because coming to ITSC is like going to adult sleep-away camp. There's an atmosphere of discovery and play, and this year - perhaps more than any of the years before - a sense of real community to me. This year I met the daughter of the doctor who delivered me and my high school math teacher - pretty cool!
LIVE BLOGGING
This year we took the Cool Tech blog LIVE!!! Each DTEC member took notes on the blog from their respective workshops. Michelle and I sent off a couple of emails to Sweet Home folks to remind them to check things out and I posted a link to our blog on the ITSC Celly page last night. Up until this weekend, the most activity for the Cool Tech blog came from France - I guess we're kind of a big deal there - but as of this morning, the Cool Tech blog had over 100 hits, and when I checked it a moment ago, we have 200!
FLAT STANLEY
I don't really know why he was here, but I am convinced that Flat Stanley will become the ITSC meme of the future.
So, until next year...
